P01126 - Provision of Pest Control and Bee Management Services

The Organisation

Western Power is a Western Australian State Government owned corporation responsible for building, maintaining and operating an electricity network that connects our 2.3 million customers to traditional and renewable energy sources, delivering an essential service to our community.

The Scope

Western Power is seeking registrations of interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced service providers to deliver pest control, bee management, and wild animal removal services across its operational footprint within the South West Interconnected Network (SWIN), based in Western Australia.

Services include:

1. Pest Control 

  • Planned and Preventative Maintenance Treatments for common pests, including but not limited to:
    • Rats
    • Mice
    • Cockroaches
    • Termites
  • Reactive Treatments to address pest issues as they arise.
  • Specific treatment for Black African Sugar Ants as identified and required

All treatments are expected to comply with relevant legislation and best practice environmental and safety standards.

2.     Bee Management Services

  • Safe removal and rehoming of bees in a manner that prioritises conservation and public safety, on an ad hoc basis.
  • Bee removal services must be undertaken by personnel:
    • Registered with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD); and
    • Registered members of the West Australian Apiarist Society (WAAS).

The contractor must demonstrate experience in environmentally responsible bee relocation practices.

3.  Wild Animal Removal Services

  • Safe removal and relocation of wild animals from operational sites. Species may include, but are not limited to:
    • Snakes
    • Possums
    • Pigeons
    • Other relevant native or nuisance fauna

All works are to be carried out in compliance with applicable wildlife protection legislation and licensing requirements.

Works will be required to be delivered at locations across Western Power’s South West Interconnected Network (SWIN) ranging from Kalbarri to Jerramungup and out to Kalgoorlie. Sites range from depots, residential houses, substations and Distribution huts.

Registration Requirements

Suppliers are required to respond to the below ROI Questionnaire (Appendix 1) and complete the supplier registration on the website. 

Lodgement Closing Date and Time

Closing date for Responses is 5pm (AWST) August 15th 2025
Lodgement and Delivery of Responses:

(a) Western Power may, at its absolute discretion, elect to consider or reject a Response that is received after the Closing of Responses. 
(b) Except with Western Power’s prior approval, a Response is to be delivered by email and must be:

      (i) provided as an attachment to the email. 
      (ii) sent to: ben.shipp@westernpower.com.au 
     (iii)include the subject line - P01126 – Pest Control and Bee Management Services
   (iv)Include the completed Appendix 1 – P01126 – Pest Control and Bee Management Services - ROI Questionnaire.

(c) Western Power may, at its absolute discretion, suspend or cancel this ROI at any time.
(d) Registering for the opportunity does not guarantee that you will be invited to participate in a market event or become a supplier of Western Power.
