Becoming a supplier

Inline with our sustainable procurement principles we seek to work with suppliers who contribute to sustainable development are economically, environmentally and socially responsible. Our Supplier Code of Conduct details expectations of our suppliers and their supply chains in providing goods and services to our organisation and the broader Western Australian community.

Western Power can consider engaging an organisation that meets the minimum accreditation requirements in the following areas:

  • business and commercial information
  • insurance
  • safety and health
  • environmental.

Our accreditation process requires suppliers to be transparent about their business and to actively engage in our policies and processes.

To register your interest in becoming a supplier to Western Power please complete our supplier registration form ensuring all mandatory fields have been completed prior to submitting your details. See the dedicated tenders and registrations of interest page for information on specific upcoming events.

Once completed your supplier request will be sent to the appropriate procurement representative for approval. If approved, we may send an invitation to register your business on Ariba if Western Power may require the goods or services that you are offering in the future.

The award of any business by Western Power will follow an established procurement process in line with Western Power approved policies, standards and guidelines.

Information received will be treated in confidence but may be disclosed to any part of Western Power as part of the accreditation process.

Western Power COVID vaccination requirements

The State Government has mandated COVID-19 vaccinations for many Western Australian workplaces. Western Power has been classified as a Group 2 industry and occupation (industries and workplaces deemed critical to ongoing delivery of business and the function of the community) requiring its workforce to have the first dose of the vaccine by 31 December 2021, and full vaccination by 31 January 2022.

The vaccination requirement will provide that an employer or person in charge of a workplace must ensure that all employees are vaccinated, and employees not vaccinated have a valid exemption. The onus will be on an employee to comply with the direction and not enter or work at a location if unvaccinated, and to provide evidence to an employer of their vaccination status. Employers will be required to keep records (including copies of the evidence of vaccination) and ensure unvaccinated staff are not permitted to enter the work site. It is an offence for a person to fail, without reasonable excuse, to comply with any of the directions. This is punishable by a fine of up to $20,000 for individuals and $100,000 for bodies corporate.

The mandated vaccine policy extends to Western Powers suppliers and personnel who will be required to attend Western Power’s work sites to deliver services under contract. Western Power directions require that:

  • on and from 12.01am on 1 January 2022, all supplier personnel who are required to attend Western Power premises to conduct services under contract must be partially vaccinated (1st dose) against COVID-19, and provide evidence of their vaccination status prior to entering a Western Power controlled premise or a worksite/location where the work has been commissioned by Western Power; and
  • on and from 12.01am on 1 February 2022, all supplier personnel who are required to attend Western Power premises to conduct services under contract must be fully vaccinated (2nd dose) against COVID-19, and provide evidence of their vaccination status prior to entering a Western Power controlled premise or a worksite/location where the work has been commissioned by Western Power.

Further to the above, all Western Power suppliers that have personnel that are required to attend Western Power premises as set out above, shall have and manage a vaccination register for these personnel, and provide to Western Power on request.
