We're progressing the Clean Energy Link (CEL) Program, a major infrastructure initiative to support the transition to renewable energy across Western Australia. As part of this program, Western Power is required to deliver biodiversity offset outcomes, including the rehabilitation of multiple offset sites to meet State and Commonwealth environmental approval conditions.

Rehabilitation activities are expected to occur across a number of locations within the Perth metropolitan, Peel, Wheatbelt and South-West regions. These sites represent a range of environmental settings, site conditions and constraints, which will influence rehabilitation approaches and delivery requirements. The rehabilitation program is anticipated to involve multiple offset sites of varying size and complexity, at large scale, with activities occurring concurrently across regions over an extended period.

Rehabilitation services at expected to initiate in 2027 and will continue for 10-20 years dependent on approvals conditions.

The rehabilitation program includes the establishment of native vegetation communities through activities such as seed collection and propagation, site preparation, planting and seeding, weed and pest management, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance to achieve defined completion criteria.
