The Scope

Western Power is seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations, for the provision of Station Post Insulators.

­­Post insulator units of porcelain material suitable for outdoor service within Western Power substations throughout the South west Interconnected System (SWIS).

Requirements include (but not limited to):

  • Operating System Voltages: 22kV to 330kV
  • Core Construction: Solid
  • Power Frequency Withstand Voltage: 50kV to 460kV
  • Lightning Impulse Withstand Voltage: 150kV to 1175kV
  • Creepage: 31 mm/kV ph-ph (53.7mm/kV phase-to-earth)
  • Minimum Failing Cantilever Load: 6kN to 16kN

The Scope of Work includes: 

  1. Design 
  2. Manufacture 
  3. Testing 
  4. Packaging 
  5. Provision of documentation 
  6. Insurance 
  7. Delivery to Destination
