Reclosers and Load Break Switches - P02299
We're seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for the provision of Reclosers and Load Break Switches for use on the South West Interconnected System (SWIS).
Reclosers and Load Break Switches are single or three phase devices deployed on the medium voltage (up to 33kV) overhead distribution network to provide switching, isolation, and protection capabilities across the network. Reclosers are primarily utilised to detect, interrupt and automatically restore supply following downstream faults, thereby reducing the impact of transient faults, and improving overall -network reliability.
Load break switches provide safe, reliable, and frequent switching under normal network operating conditions, supporting network sectionalising, back-feeding, and operational reconfiguration activities. Both device types require remote monitoring and automated operational functionality to support modern distribution automation initiatives, enhance operational efficiency, and improve visibility across the network.
