We're seeking to identify suppliers capable of designing, manufacturing, supplying, customising and delivering specialised Heavy Fleet vehicles and associated equipment.

Vendors may submit responses for one or more of the following categories:

  • Category 1 - Mobile Elevated Work Platform’s (MEWP)
  • Category 2 - Heavy Trucks (above 4.5T GVM)
  • Category 3 - VLC Cranes, Cranes and Crane Borers
  • Category 4 - Vehicle Body Building and Fabrication

Category 1 – Mobile elevated Work Platform’s (MEWP)

Design and manufacture of insulated and non-insulated MEWPs in the following configurations:

  • 10-28 metre platform height hydraulically operated insulated MEWP
  • 8-16 metre platform height hydraulically operated non-insulated MEWP
  • 38-60 metre platform height hydraulically operated non-insulated MEWP

Category 2 – Heavy Trucks (above 4.5T GVM)

Design and manufacture of Heavy Truck vehicles with a GVM above 4.5T

Category 3 – VLC Cranes, Cranes and Craneborers

Design and manufacture of any Mobile Craneborer, Crane or Vehicle Loading Crane meeting the below requirements:

  • 0.7 – 60 tonne Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) hydraulically operated in either C2, C6 or CV classifications.

Category 4 – Vehicle Body building and Fabrication

Design and manufacture of specialised motor bodies, trailers, storage and racking systems to Line Trucks, Crane Borers, First Response Vehicles, Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs) and/or other specialised fleet and equipment requested by Western Power.

The vehicle body building services include, but are not limited to:

  • Vehicle sub frames and trays
  • Towbars, tow couplings and bull bars (including plastic smart bars)
  • Chassis wheelbase extensions and reductions
  • Fuel tanks
  • Container lock and skid mounting of plant
  • Basket boom rests
  • Steps and handrails
  • Winch mountings
  • Toolboxes, lockers and ladder racks
  • Cab-mounted surf bars, rotary beacons and work lights
  • Chassis towing eye assemblies
  • Supply chequer plates and decks
  • Trailer manufacture and rebuilds or modifications
  • Manufacture and repair of plastic products
  • Manufacture and repair of FRP products
  • Other body building or specialised welding as required
  • ROPs, Rear, side and front underrun devices.
