When a customer proposes to add or modify distributed energy resources (DER), they must first contact their electricity retailer to discuss the change. Based on this request, the electricity retailer is responsible for submitting the required notification to Western Power to update the site’s network access arrangements. This notification is completed by the electricity retailer (not the applicant) and is required before Approval to Operate can be issued.
The customer must contact their electricity retailer to initiate this step. Approval to Operate cannot be requested until the electricity retailer has submitted the required network access notification to Western Power.
Select the equipment you are intending to install at site.
If you don’t have an offtake agreement with your electricity retailer, your export will be limited to the lower of 5% of inverter capacity or 10 kW. We’ll confirm your final export limit as part of our assessment. Requests to export energy require additional checks, which may extend the overall assessment timeframe.
Please upload the latest version of each document. Assessments rely on the information provided; superseded or incorrect documents may not reflect site needs and can delay or cancel your application.
