In the enquiry stage, we identify a suitable network connection option so you can assess your project’s feasibility and prepare a Connection Application. Depending on your requirements, you can choose either a Capacity Check Assessment or a Connection Options Assessment (COA). 

To start an enquiry for a new connection, or change an existing connection point, complete and submit an enquiry form via MyWP projects portal.  . 

Capacity Check 

A Capacity Check includes: 

  • identifying network capacity  
  • considering your project requirements, such as Dynamic (RMS) studies, Remote Monitoring and Control (RMC), and network standards.

Connection Options Assessment 

A Connections Option Assessment includes: 

  • identifying connection options that meet the requirements in your enquiry form, including any network modifications needed to enable the proposed connection '

  • running connection studies (steady state, import and export power flow analysis, voltage, and thermal limit performance), to determine network modifications your application requires
     
  • completing transmission network impact assessment and clearance, if required 

  • a workshop with our planning engineers to present, discuss, and refine the connection options

  • developing a high-level scope of work, an AACE Class 5** cost estimate, and a high-level time estimate for each connection option

  • providing all of this to you in a Connection Options Assessment pack 

A Connection Options Assessment does not include identifying or assessing economic, market or network constraints, or the network modifications needed to address them.

Looking to connect a distribution load ≥ 10MVA, any large generator ≥ 1MVA or a large distribution connected generator(≥1MVA) coupled with a distribution load.
