Obligation to connect map
Find out where the obligation to connect zone applies by using our mapping tool.
This mapping tool has been developed to display which properties in Western Australia are still covered by the “obligation to connect” legislation under electricity regulations — even if the traditional poles and wires have been removed and replaced with SPS.
You can use the tool to:
- Check if your property is eligible for connection under the regulations.
- See if your property is within the 100-metre rule (which gives you connection rights for 10 years).
- Understand whether your property is part of a preserved obligation to connect area - meaning it still has connection rights even after infrastructure changes
