Commercial or industrial customers can apply to become a ‘sensitive customer’ if there is a high risk that an extended power outage could result in adverse economic, health, environmental or public safety consequences.

It's important to note that in an emergency situation, such as a major disaster, or even a local incident in your area, such as a vehicle hitting a power pole, we cannot guarantee that you won't experience a long interruption.

We evaluate sensitive customers using a fair and equitable approach, based on the Risk Management Standard AS/ISO 31000. Where power is critical to your business, we encourage you to perform your own risk assessment on your business and implement controls for the management of the risk of power interruption.
