Inclusion
We’re building workplaces where differences are welcomed, perspectives are heard, and every person feels they belong.
Belong to a community
As part of our commitment to inclusion, we elevate and listen to voices across all genders, cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.
We sponsor six employee networks that bring together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and racially marginalised groups, people with disabilities, younger and older people, and LGBTQIA+ colleagues.
Through advocacy, celebration and education, these networks offer peer support and allyship, and work across the business to help deliver inclusive and equitable outcomes for our employees, customers, and the community.
Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy is backed by targeted action plans, including our Reconciliation Action Plan 2026-2027, and Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2023-2028.
We partner with specialist organisations to embed best-practice inclusion: Diversity Council Australia, Australian Disability Network, Pride in Diversity, Work180, Reconciliation WA, Clontarf Foundation, Waalitj Foundation and CEOs for Gender Equity.

Inclusion in action: Powering Pride
The Powering Pride employee network champions representation for employees of diverse sexualities and genders across Western Power.
To help create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment for LGBTQIA+ employees, the network:
- provides education and ally support
- reviews, consults and recommends improvements to the inclusivity of our policies and procedures
- supports benchmarking against the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI)
- leads our participation in community events, including the annual WA Pride event, PRIDEFEST.
