A network for life is Western Power’s newest community campaign showcasing our network and how it connects – and brings life to – all the other networks that we’re all part of – our sporting, school, social, family, community networks and more.
The network that keeps much of it going, is the State’s largest electricity network.
Launching this month, the awareness campaign includes a series of six adverts featuring the work done by Western Power to upgrade the network, from undergrounding to building the transmission network, installing advanced meters, upgrading transformers, and running it all from our high-tech control centre.
Featuring Western Power employees going about their day-to-day work, the adverts show how Western Power’s network is intertwined with community, infrastructure, business and environmental networks, and is an essential part for everyday life.
Western Power Legal, Governance and External Relations Executive Manager May Lin Chew said the adverts show how the network is there to provide a sustainable future.
“The campaign shows how our electricity network is there for all the other networks in people’s lives – from sport to school to social and everything in between,” Ms Chew said.
“We have an important role in transforming the grid to enable industry and community to reach their decarbonisation goals and meet our ongoing drive to provide reliable, affordable and cleaner electricity,” she said.
“Western Power is expanding and evolving the network to enable decarbonisation, increasing its capacity to support the rapid growth and demand for renewable energy as we move towards greater renewable generation and integration of technologies like rooftop solar, batteries and electric vehicles,” Ms Chew said.
“Western Power has a critical role to play in achieving the State Government’s goal of net zero.”
