A package of work to bolster the power network in the Shire of Waroona is now complete.

Western Power Manager of Asset Operations Zane Christmas said the upgrades have reinforced the network in Waroona, Lake Clifton and Wagerup.

“As part of this work, our teams replaced 108 poles, 21 kilometres of powerlines and upgraded a transformer, crossarms, insulators, protection devices and streetlights,” Mr Christmas said.

“These upgrades have strengthened the network in the Shire of Waroona against environmental impacts like vegetation, storms and bushfire, helping to reduce unplanned outages for the community.

“Some planned power outages were necessary to complete the upgrades safely, and we thank the Waroona community for their patience while we completed this important work.”

The upgrades are part of Western Power’s annual $1 billion comprehensive network maintenance program to improve network resilience and manage safety, reliability and environmental risks.
