Join us in a permanent full-time opportunity as a Senior Project Manager in our Property and Fleet team and take accountability for the successful delivery of significant capital works projects - guiding them from planning through construction and to completion.
You will oversee complex, high‑value, high‑visibility works, ensuring outcomes meet rigorous standards for safety, quality, cost and timeliness. Working across a multi‑year capital program, you will translate strategic vision into tangible infrastructure outcomes that deliver real value for customers and stakeholders.
Your Role in Action
- Lead the delivery of complex, high‑risk, high‑profile capital works projects, ensuring completion In line with scope, schedule and budget and without compromising safety or quality.
- Transition completed projects into business‑as‑usual operations, driving effective change management and maximising the realisation of intended benefits.
- Champion disciplined project delivery by applying Western Power’s project management methodology, standards and governance framework with confidence and integrity.
- Take ownership of project financial performance - actively managing, forecasting and reporting against approved budgets to ensure strong commercial outcomes.
- Keep projects moving forward through proactive, transparent reporting, and strong leadership of project teams via robust schedules and resource plans.
- Anticipate what’s ahead by identifying, managing and mitigating risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies before they impact delivery.
- Embed quality at every stage by delivering assurance controls, gate checks and compliance that protect safety, cost, reputation and outcomes.
- Build trust and momentum through effective stakeholder engagement and by leading high‑performing, cross‑functional teams toward shared success.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Proven experience delivering high‑value, highly complex projects, with the confidence and capability to lead challenges through to successful outcomes.
- A tertiary qualification in Project Management or a related discipline, supported by hands‑on experience managing construction projects from scope and design through procurement and delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated experience engaging and aligning multiple internal and external partners across the full project lifecycle.
- Sound working knowledge of contemporary project management methodologies (such as PMBoK or PRINCE2) and the ability to apply them pragmatically in complex environments.
- A track record of delivering complex projects within constrained timeframes, underpinned by robust risk management, resource planning and problem‑solving skills.
- Well-developed commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets, forecasting costs, and balancing strategic, financial and leadership considerations.
