This role is responsible for supporting the application of Western Power’s Fraud and Corruption Standard, which details Western Power’s processes to prevent, detect, address and report fraud and corruption in reducing its fraud and corruption exposure at the operational level while providing input into delivering longer term strategies.
In this role, you will support the business in managing its fraud control processes for the prevention, detection and response to incidents of fraud, corruption, or other misconduct reported by Western Power personnel or external parties. You will also play a vital role in maintaining professional relationships with other enforcement and regulatory agencies.
Your Role in Action
- Demonstrate leadership to ensure the highest standards of integrity are promoted and achieved at Western Power.
- Lead, mentor and empower the Integrity specialists, championing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
- Manage, undertake, and support investigations into allegations of fraud and corruption and misconduct by Western Power staff or its contractors.
- Coordinate Western Power’s reporting obligations under the Corruption, Crime and Misconduct Act and determine the adequacy of internal controls to prevent and detect fraud and corruption and based on trends, assist in determining key risk exposures and areas for potential reviews.
- Support Functions in their awareness, understanding and application of internal controls to mitigate against fraudulent activities being undertaking by Western Power staff or contractors, by undertaking specific training sessions and providing advice and guidance.
- Prepare written submissions, reports and recommendations of a high standard as required.
What Makes You a Great Fit
We are seeking someone with attributes that include the below, or relevant transferable experience:
- An experienced professional with sound knowledge and experience of at least 5+ years in undertaking and completing investigations into alleged fraud, corruption, and misconduct, or similar relevant experience.
- Investigations or relating to fraud control qualifications i.e
- -Diploma in Government Investigations or equivalent.
- -Diploma in Government Fraud Control or equivalent.
- -Certificate III Investigative Services or equivalent.
- Strong customer focus and ability to build relationships and networks both internal and external to the business.
- Strong conceptual and analytical ability including the ability to critically analyse information and concepts and communicate recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with Stakeholders at all levels both internal and external.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Experience managing a team of integrity professionals.
- Ability to develop practical and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive problems.
- Demonstrated experience in investigation report writing.
- Strong research analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Strong negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills at all levels.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
