We’re looking for a Senior Cyber Security Architect to help safeguard and shape the technology that underpins Western Power’s operations. In this permanent role, you’ll play a critical part in designing secure, resilient solutions across IT and OT environments and assuring the quality of technical outcomes across our systems and infrastructure.
Using your deep expertise in cyber security, applications, and infrastructure technologies, you’ll design and shape security solutions that are not only robust, but streamlined and practical, ensuring you enable the business to operate efficiently while managing risk.
Your Role in Action
- Lead the design of secure solutions by translating business and security requirements into robust cyber architectures that protect Western Power’s systems, data, and operations across IT and OT environments
- Set clear cyber security design direction for internal teams and external service providers, ensuring solutions meet Technology standards, security controls, and risk tolerance
- Own the quality assurance of cyber solution designs and implementations, identifying gaps, risks, and weaknesses before they impact the business
- Actively govern security outcomes across programs and projects, tracking delivery against agreed designs and intervening early to address security or quality issues
- Partner with stakeholders, architects, engineers, and suppliers to solve complex cyber security challenges within operational, budget, and capability constraints
- Maintain and evolve cyber security architecture across applications, infrastructure, and platforms across IT and OT environments, balancing innovation with resilience and risk reduction
- Provide expert input into technology and security investment decisions, helping maximise return on investment while reducing cyber and operational risk
- Champion continuous improvement in cyber security practices, standards, and ways of working, while contributing to a positive, high‑performing technical community
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Proven experience designing cyber security architectures in large, complex organisations with diverse application and infrastructure environments
- Strong grounding in cyber security principles, architecture patterns, and secure‑by‑design practices
- Experience leading or contributing to solution architecture across enterprise‑scale systems and platforms
- Solid understanding of modern development and project delivery approaches, and how security is embedded across them
- Ability to translate business needs and risk considerations into clear, practical security architecture requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis or a related field, or equivalent practical experience delivering cyber security outcomes
