Senior Consultant – Energy Transition & Major Projects

Permanent Full Time | Perth CBD Office

We’re looking for a seasoned leader to drive major customer applications from concept to connection on the South-West Interconnected Network. This high impact role demands sharp commercial instincts, expert contract negotiation, and top-tier stakeholder management. You’ll navigate complex risks while ensuring full compliance with the Electricity Network Access Code and Applications Queuing Policy.

As part of the Major Customer Decarbonisation team, you’ll help unlock large-scale customer-funded loads, renewables, and battery storage critical to delivering WA’s decarbonisation targets.

Your Role in Action

  • Forge and nurture strategic partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive timely, effective contract execution for major transmission access projects.
  • Deliver commercially sound access solutions that proactively address financial and operational risks, ensuring robust outcomes for both Western Power and its customers.
  • Champion Western Power’s reputation as a safe, reliable, and forward-thinking provider by leading contract negotiations that reflect innovation and service excellence.
  • Own the capital budgeting process for access projects, ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Lead the escalation of customer concerns, ensuring swift resolution and continuous improvement across business units.
  • Assess and manage contract impacts using a structured risk framework to safeguard Western Power’s operational integrity and long-term performance.
  • Navigate complex access challenges with a balanced, solutions-oriented mindset recognising that each situation demands thoughtful, tailored approaches— maintain accurate systems to reflect project status, financials, and customer engagement.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Business-savvy foundation backed by tertiary qualifications, enabling strategic thinking and commercial acumen across complex environments.
  • Mastery of project management frameworks, with the agility to lead multifaceted initiatives from concept to completion in high-stakes infrastructure settings.
  • Proven negotiator and trusted advisor, skilled in navigating intricate contract and financial discussions while delivering win-win outcomes for sophisticated clients.
  • Deep expertise in risk, compliance, and commercial governance, ensuring decisions are both bold and balanced within regulatory boundaries.
  • Relationship architect at the senior level, adept at cultivating trust, influence, and collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communicator and strategic prioritiser, with the ability to distill complexity, manage competing demands, and drive clarity in every conversation.
