Document Controller – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD

Are you a detail-driven professional with a passion for precision and quality? We’re looking for an experienced Document Controller and Administrator to take charge of our drawing, document and records management processes within a dynamic engineering and design environment. Based in the heart of Perth’s CBD, this full-time permanent role is key to ensuring our systems, workflows, and documentation align with legislative requirements and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.

About this role

 

This role is responsible for managing document and record control processes, systems, administration, and workflows, while also supporting audits to ensure internal documentation complies with legislative requirements and ISO 9000 / 9001:2015 Quality Management System standards.

 

Other key roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Ensuring documents meet quality standards by following established review processes and verifying accuracy of references to related documents, systems, processes, and Western Power structures
  • Operating within a team of Document Controllers to self-assign, action, and manage administrative tasks from a shared mailbox
  • Collaborating with Drafters and Project Engineers to support the successful delivery of digital engineering information for infrastructure projects
  • Assisting with technical queries raised by internal teams and external supplier delivery partners
  • Managing controlled documents within the function to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and Western Power standards
  • Providing training to the wider function on the use and support of the Volt system
  • Maintaining Volt (EDMS) filing systems and related platforms (such as ProjectWise), ensuring access and security align with Western Power’s Information Management Standard, and that records are retained appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Supporting the development of document control guidelines and frameworks, including processes for review, authorisation, version control, and maintenance of controlled document registers
  • Contributing to a strong compliance culture and helping to achieve required outcomes
  • Supporting internal audits in line with the audit schedule

 

 What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • A minimum of 5 years sound and demonstrated experience in document control, administration and management or a similar discipline
  • Specialist document control systems and processes knowledge
  • Strong, demonstrated skills in English and Mathematics
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with strong attention to detail

The base salary for this position is $89,657.00 per annum, plus 13.5% superannuation
