WS2839275456 – Project Symphony

In Western Australia, the installed capacity of rooftop solar PV in the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) now exceeds 1100 MW or approximately three times the size of the largest power station on the system, with the capacity to serve over 45% of the underlying demand in the system at certain times. The rate of PV adoption in the SWIS is continuing to increase at consistent levels.

As a result, Western Power is seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for the provision of solutions to implement/prove the calculation and publishing of network hosting capacity (Dynamic Operating Envelopes) – a use case that forms part of Project Symphony. Symphony is aimed at testing how the Wholesale Energy Market might integrate distributed energy resources (including solar PV) into systems and markets to benefit all customers.

To be considered, please register your interest by emailing Marisha Roberson – [email protected] referencing WS2839275456.

Further information will be provided upon registration which needs to be completed and returned by 5pm Thursday 4th March 2021.

Please note that registering for the opportunity does not guarantee that you will be invited to participate in a market event or become a supplier of Western Power
