The Organisation
Western Power is a Western Australian State Government owned corporation responsible for building, maintaining and operating an electricity network that connects our 2.3 million customers to traditional and renewable energy sources, delivering an essential service to our community.

The Scope
Western Power is seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations that have the capability and capacity to periodically supply composite cross-arms with associated endcaps and inserts.

Composite cross-arms are used to support the insulators carrying low voltage (415 Volt) bare aerial conductors on Western Power’s overhead distribution network to supply electricity to consumers and are used as termination or intermediate cross-arms. A single unit, suitably rated, may be considered to perform both termination and intermediate roles.

These composite cross-arms shall be of a conservative, standardised design that are suitable to be installed outdoors for continuous service and be maintenance free for a minimum period of 50 years under the site conditions that are representative of SWIN conditions. (Refer to site-conditions table 1.1)

The installation shall be done without the need for a bespoke civil engineering design that is specific for each site and will allow safe and expedient installation or replacement of the electrical equipment that it supports (i.e. within 12 hrs).

The Scope of Work includes:
a)    Design
b)    Manufacture
c)    Testing
d)    Packaging
e)    Provision of documentation
f)    Insurance
g)    Delivery to Destination
