As part of the transformation of WA’s energy sector to enable the continued growth and integration of renewables, in particular rooftop solar, Western Power will be releasing new embedded generator connection technical requirements in December.
The new requirements are intended to increase DER hosting capacity while maintaining system security, reliability and stability. They prepare a pathway that enables more active participation of DER in the future. They’ll replace the current Network Integration Guideline – Inverter Embedded Generation and the Battery IES requirements.
The updated requirements will enable a greater renewable energy future for Western Australians by incorporating changes in the standards to allow larger systems to connect.
To facilitate engagement with the solar industry, we invite you to register for our online information session on Thursday, 2 December 2021.
The session will provide you with an overview of the new Embedded Generation Connection Technical Requirements, which covers most small-scale systems connected to the low voltage distribution network as well as key changes including how new installations will be assessed and managed.
By working together, we can continue to ensure that Western Australia remains at the forefront of the changing energy landscape and continues to deliver a brighter energy future for our community.
