Storms cause power outages across the Western Power network

Western Power is redeploying crews to the South West after about 16,000 people lost power in the area after last night's storms.

The worst affected areas are Manjimup and Bridgetown with more than 5,000 people without power.

It's believed there may be a fault on a main transmission line, which may be responsible for most of the outages in that part of the South West region.

Western Power crews will have to patrol the line from the ground by car, with conditions still too dangerous to inspect the line by helicopter.
