80796 I Senior Substation Maintenance Technician – Permanent

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Substation Maintenance Technician at our South Metro Depot in Forrestdale on a permanent full-time basis.
About this role
As the Substation Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support, advice, training, and project coordination in the fields of testing, commissioning and / or maintenance of transmission equipment and providing recommendations in relation to new technologies, system faults, maintenance, and secondary services on networks facilities. You will also be expected to provide work packaging, increase the delivery of our works program and make most of our outages. You will support the Maintenance teams and our scheduling arm to optimise our outages and reduce slippages.
About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- Possess Trade qualifications or relevant qualifications - essential.
- Current Electrical Workers License - essential
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
- At least 7 to 10 year’s demonstrated extensive technical experience, preferably in the Networks business.
- Extensive knowledge of networks construction, maintenance and operations field practices and procedures.
- Proven experience in managing negotiations and conflict resolution with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Resource management and procedures.
- Continuous improvement, training, and coaching techniques.
- Regulations, and procedures applicable to the Section and Stream.
- Hold all appropriate industry licences or certificates of competency.
- MS Office, Word, Excel & or Access. MIMS and scheduling/work management systems.
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or C A’
- Extensive experience on substation maintenance experience will be advantageous
- Take control of unforeseen outages and coordinate resources to return plant to service
