Senior Safety Advisory Partner

We are seeking a Senior Safety Advisory Partner to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert guidance to operational teams and support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety systems. You will help ensure compliance with legislation, foster a proactive safety culture, and work closely with leaders to reduce risk and enhance wellbeing across the organisation.

Your Role in Action

• Coach and support operational leaders to embed proactive safety practices and ownership.
• Conduct workplace inspections, Line 1 audits, and lead or support incident investigations (Levels 3–5), ensuring quality root-cause analysis and timely action closure.
• Guide hazard identification, risk assessments, and the development and improvement of safety procedures and risk frameworks.
• Coordinate safety inductions, training, and engagement activities, and contribute to safety committees and audits.
• Translate legislation, data insights, and complex safety concepts into practical guidance for leaders and frontline teams.
• Support new safety initiatives, cultural improvements, and system enhancements, identifying opportunities to simplify and strengthen safety workflows.
• Analyse safety data to identify trends, near misses, and predictive risks, shifting focus toward proactive risk management.
• Lead regulator engagement on site, ensure evidence preservation during incidents, and participate on a after hours on-call roster.
• Travel to Western Power locations as needed to support operational teams.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience as a safety generalist within a comparable regulatory or operational environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with both frontline staff and middle management.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and concise communication capabilities.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines.
  Valid WA Driver’s Licence (Class C or C-A).
• Willingness to travel across Western Power locations and participate in an on-call roster.
• Minimum Diploma or Graduate Diploma/Bachelor in Occupational Health & Safety.
  ICAM qualification.
