Category and Contracts Specialist

Join our Commercial Portfolio team as a Category and Contracts Specialist at Western Power on a full-time basis. This role offers the chance to shape supplier relationships, optimize contract outcomes, and support Western Power's mission through effective contract management.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Manage contracts across services, materials, and goods, ensuring consistent application of the contract management framework.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Enhance supplier performance and support internal teams in extracting maximum value from contracts.
  • Oversee data management of contract performance, governance, and compliance with internal and external policies.
  • Support the development of supply chain strategies, enterprise risk management, and community-focused programs.

 

 What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Degree in Procurement, Contract, Business, Finance, or related discipline, or extensive experience in contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, Australian Consumer Law, and standard contract agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability in supplier relationship management and contract strategy execution.
  • Proficient in negotiation, analytical thinking, and compliance management.
  • Working knowledge of Mincom Ellipse and Ariba systems.
