Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to Western Power’s winter safety vegetation management promotion. The applicant should read these conditions carefully before submitting their application.
The promotion is being conducted by Western Power and will be administered via WA’s peak body for tree pruners, the WA Tree Guild.
The term ‘savings voucher’ in these terms and conditions refers to a savings voucher that property owners can enter to win for a $100 contribution (not discount) from Western Power towards the cost of engaging a tree pruning contractor who is a member of the WA Tree Guild.
50 ‘savings vouchers’ are available to be won.
Contribution amount
A contribution of $100 (in the form of a ‘savings voucher’) is available to applicants randomly selected in the draw made by Western Power to be used only for the cost of tree pruning work undertaken by a professional tree pruner that is member of the WA Tree Guild.
A successful applicant will not receive the ‘savings voucher’ directly. Western Power will present the ‘savings voucher’ to the WA Tree Guild who will then pay the $100 contribution towards the cost of the successful applicant’s tree pruning work.
The tree pruning work must be completed by 30 July 2010 to qualify for the contribution
Any ‘savings voucher’ not used by 30 July 2010 will expire.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply to win a ‘savings voucher’ all of the following conditions must be met:
(a) Property
The property the subject of an application must supplied with electricity by Western Power and have a tree that growing within 2.5 metres of a street mains power line on your property. Trees growing near home service wires are not eligible to utilise the $100 ‘savings voucher’.
(b) Applicant
The applicant must be the owner of the property or have permission from the owner of the property to make the application (proof of which will be required if the applicant is successful).
Application
1. An application for a ‘savings voucher’ must be submitted via the form available on the Western Power website.
2. There is no cost to enter this promotion.
3. Only one (1) application per household is eligible to win a ‘savings voucher’.
4. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Western Power and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter this promotion. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption).
5. Western Power reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of applications and applicants (including applicant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any applicant who submits an application that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the application process. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Western Power’s discretion. Failure by the Western Power to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
6. Incomplete or indecipherable applications will be deemed invalid.
7. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Western Power reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the applicant.
8. The promotion commences on 8am 16 June 2010.
9. The closing date for applications is 5pm 30 June 2010. No late applications will be considered.
10. The draw will take place on 5pm, 01 July 2010 at Western Power: 363 Wellington Street, Perth, WA, 6000.
11. The successful applicants will be notified by mail and contacted directly by Western Power on 02 July 2010.
The ‘savings voucher’ will be applied only to work completed by a WA Tree Guild contractor for the successful applicant before 30 July 2010.
Refund of the contribution
Applicants may be required to repay the value of the contribution if any of these terms and conditions is found to be breached in the first year after work relating to their successful application is undertaken on their property.
Program changes
Western Power reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion and at any time, to change any or all of the terms and conditions or to cancel the contribution program prior to 31 July 2010.
Liability
The applicant acknowledges and agrees that as far as the law permits, Western Power accepts no liability in respect to any claim, cause of action or loss or damage arising out of, or in relation to, any vegetation or works undertaken that is the subject of funding contribution.
Payment
The WA Tree Guild will pay the $100 contribution to the WA Tree Guild members that undertake work for successful applicants. The contribution will be deducted from the successful applicant’s bill for the work. No monies will be paid directly to the successful applicant in exchange for or in place of the contribution.
