Western Power provides scholarship and vacation employment opportunities for undergraduates studying or intending to study electrical engineering. Opportunities for civil (structural) engineering students also occur.
Two scholarships are awarded each year: Stuart Morgan Scholarship and Bruce Kirkwood Memorial Scholarship.
The Stuart Morgan Scholarship targets Year 12 students who live in country WA and intend to pursue a degree course in technology, commerce or electrical engineering at a Perth university.
The Bruce Kirkwood Memorial Scholarship targets students enrolled at Curtin University of Technology or University of Western Australia (UWA) who intend to pursue a career in electrical power engineering.
Western Power employs mainly electrical engineering students over the summer academic break. Preference is given to students approaching their final year of undergraduate studies and who show an interest in working in the electrical power industry on graduation.
Applications from civil (structural) students are also welcome.
