Western Power would like to clarify recent reports in the media, which followed from a media release issued by Aviva Corporation that Western Power had announced plans to build a 330kV transmission line from Perth to Geraldton.
For the avoidance of doubt Western Power is in the initial stages of community consultation regarding the optimal social, environmental and economic options for any transmission line corridor.
Any plan would also be subject to Board and regulatory approval.
While Western Power is considering the line, and has started consulting with the community, no firm commitment has been made on the construction of the line, including timing.
Western Power will continue to keep relevant stakeholders and our website up to date with information on this project.
