Born in 1948 (independent, non-executive director). Appointed with effect from 01/04/2006.
The Board has recommended that the Minister nominate Ms Field for reappointment as a director for a further term of 1 year commencing on 01/07/2008. The reappointment is yet to be confirmed. In the meantime, Ms Field continues in office by virtue of clause 2(3) of Schedule 1 of the Act.
Ms Field has spent more than 3 decades in the mining industry and has a strong background in human resources and project management. She has held executive roles in a variety of mining industry sectors throughout Australia and in South America. Prior to returning to Australia to develop a consultancy and directorship roles, she was President of Minera Alumbrera Ltd, an Argentine based management company established to develop and operate a large scale copper/gold mining project in north western Argentina.
