Upgrading your power supply
If you are installing new equipment or using appliances that need a larger or three-phase power supply, you may need to:
- upgrade your supply connection
- convert your supply connection to three-phase
- install a current transformer (CT) meter or
- upgrade your existing CT meter
If you have already installed new equipment and have noticed a change in the quality of your power supply, call 13 10 87.

We recommend using an electrical contractor/consultant to help complete the design and quotation application form.
Note: By increasing your electricity consumption you may be eligible to choose your electricity retailer.
How much will it cost?
Upgrades are assessed and quoted on a case-by-case basis. Network charges are detailed below:

Further costs may be incurred if:
- there is insufficient capacity on the local network
- the local network is only single-phase (i.e. in rural and outlying metro areas)
This will become obvious when we assess your application for a power upgrade.
Additional costs for three-phase power are outlined in network charges and pole to pillar connection and may also include:
- the cost of a three-phase meter (arranged and billed through your electricity retailer)
- electrical contractor's costs to run an underground cable from the pillar to the meter box and any changes necessary for internal wiring
Other costs
Additional charges may be incurred in the following instances:

| Administration fee | An administration fee may also be charged if the job is cancelled or changes are made after construction starts and/or any costs are incurred prior to cancellation or scope change. | $550 plus costs incurred (GST inc on admin only) |
