Why ShockProof! your students?

Every year in Western Australia, hundreds of families are affected by
the trauma from injury associated with electrical shock.
Most of these injuries are due to a lack of understanding of electrical
safety.

Each year Western Power presenters visit more than 200 schools,
talking to 50,000 students from kindergarten to year seven.

What you get on the day

Our ShockProof! presenters spend 25 to 45 minutes with each
booked class, “ShockProofing!” your students. This is a free school
program using role plays, posters, and real-life props to encourage
active learning with:

  • up to three presenters provided on any one day or visits spread over a number of days to fit around your school program
  • presenters moving from classroom to classroom
  • each class teacher receiving a support pack reviewing key safety
    messages, colourful brochures and a letter to parents informing them about the ShockProof! program
  • each school library receiving a ‘High Voltage’ DVD reinforcing key
    safety messages with
