Power Down resources

Why teach kids to become a Power Down Ranger?

We all know that we should be more energy efficient. Reducing our energy consumption helps us to create a more sustainable community and it's important we all do our part.

Power Down provides Year 4 to Year 7 students with an understanding of where energy comes from and how the consumption of electricity impacts WA and the planet.

Our Energy Education presenters deliver an interactive presentation, engaging students with activities that reinforce the program's key learning points of energy sources, climate change, energy consumption habits and helpful tips to stop being a power raider and become a Power Down Ranger.

What you get on the day

Our Energy Education presenters spend 45 minutes with each booked class, helping your students to power down. This is a free school program aimed at encouraging active learning and class participation using posters and teaching aids with:

  • Up to two presenters provided on any one day or visits spread over a number of days to fit around your school program
  • Each class teacher receiving a support pack providing colourful brochures, Power Down Ranger monitor board and activity sheets to help reinforce key energy efficiency messages
  • A take home pack for children to share with their family and help reduce their energy use
