Safety around powerlines

If a powerline came down, it could cause:

Electricity can jump. Don't climb anywhere near a powerline or substation.

Trees are cut away from powerlines:

to reduce fire hazards
to prevent electricity from making a connection with the earth (trees are conductors!)

Q. Do you know why birds don’t die on powerlines?

A. Because they are not connected to the earth!
