Notices & Submissions

Round 1 Public submissions

Western Power conducted a first round of formal public submissions and consultation period between 7 July (official comment period commenced 14 July) and 4 August 2010.
During this time, the public and key stakeholders were invited to lodge submissions outlining an alternative option, or comment on Western Power’s preferred network reinforcement option. 35 formal submissions were received.

A number of public forums were held to provide more information on the project, in Perth, Three Springs and Geraldton throughout July.

Over 150 stakeholder and community members attended the sessions, and Western Power would like to extend our thanks for the time commitment and contributions made.

Please note this is a separate process to the line route selection, which has been undertaken since 2007 with landowners along the existing line. Discussion with these landowners continues, to ensure their needs are understood and impacts are minimised.

Round 2 Public Submissions

Western Power received advice to expand the regulatory process to include the transmission assets between Eneabba and Karara mine site. Western Power has considered this advice and has decided to expand the Regulatory Test to include these assets.

The Options paper has now been amended as is available on thiswebsite, and in hard copy by request.
A second round of public submissions was sought (between 15 September and 29 September), to include the additional assets.

In addition to the 35 received during Round 1, Western Power received 2 more submissions, to make a total of 37.

All submissions and responses are available in the Key Documents section on the front page of the project website.

Thank you to everyone who submitted – your interest is appreciated.

Western Power’s preferred option for the reinforcement between Neerabup and Eneabba did not change as a result of the inclusion of the additional assets.
