Powerlines and substation projects

Our community engagement practices involve communities in decision making processes to find the most positive sustainable outcomes for network improvement projects such as new powerlines and substations.
We engage with the community to gain valuable input, ideas and feedback on distribution and transmission lines and substation projects, plus future projects and planning options.

Environmental impact studies are also undertaken and advice is sought from the Department of Environment and other agencies to ensure there are adequate environmental considerations for the design, construction and operation of each project.

Environmental management plans are prepared to address environmental issues, and agency and community issues. The plans include environmental objectives and targets, project management actions, a timeframe for completion, and identify who will undertake the work.
