New RIC Work Permits

New RICs applying for Network Access Authorisation RIC for Electrical Access Permits and Vicinity Authorities (NA3D AND NA3T) must attend the training course PTS 077E - RIC for Work Permits.

Prerequisites

To attend the training course a person must be nominated by their supervisor and must have:

  • electrical knowledge and be an electrical tradesperson or equivalent or powerline worker or equivalent; or a minimum of AQF Certificate III TAFE or university qualification in an electrical discipline or equivalent and
  • their supervisor declare on the course nomination form that the person has been a Recipient on a minimum of 10 EAPs and is suitable for role as an RIC for EAPs and VAs
  • a positive attitude to safety and responsibility

How to obtain authorisation

  1. Complete a course nomination to attend PTS 077E - RIC for Work Permits training (PDF 56kb)
  2. Attend course PTS 077E
  3. Successfully complete course theory assessment
  4. RIC candidate successfully completes on-the-job  activities
  5. Supervisor signs off  on-the-job activities
  6. Supervisor  completes RIC authorisation application and sends application and on-the-job activities to PTS
  7. Authorisation card issued by System Management
