Metering Code

The Electricity Industry Meter Code 2005 details the rights, obligations and responsibilities of code participants associated with the measurement of electricity and the provision of metering services. The code defines the rules for the provision of metering installations at connection points, and the rules for the provision of metering services, standing data and energy data.  More information

Customer Transfer Code

The Electricity Industry Customer Transfer Code 2004 sets out the rules and processes for transferring customers between retailers.

The Build Pack defines the processes, procedures and methods used to communicate between the network operator and code participants. More information

NMI Allocation Procedure

This document outlines the process for allocating NMI codes, which are distinct and universal identification codes for each metering point in the electricity market.

Mandatory Link Criteria

The Mandatory Link Criteria (PDF 109kb) sets out the circumstances under which Western Power may require the installation of a communication link as part of a metering installation. This document is managed under the Electricity Industry Metering Code 2005 and is subject to approval  by the Economic Regulation Authority.

Metrology Procedure

The Metrology Procedure (PDF 961kb) provides information on the correct provision, installation and maintenance of metering installations in the WA electricity network. It also references the Western Power Meter Management Plan (PDF 1mb). These documents are managed under the Electricity Industry Metering Code 2005 and are subject to approval  by the Economic Regulation Authority.

Annual Meter Reading Schedule

In accordance with the Electricity Industry Metering Code 2005 - Clause 6.6(f) - Western Power will publish all metering schedules for network connections points for the coming calendar year by 31 October. More information
