Cessation of Top Up and Spill Services

At 8 am on 21 September 2006 Top Up and Spill Services ceased. From that time, energy transported in the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) is settled under the provisions of the Wholesale Electricity Market Regulations. 

Top Up and Spill Market

The following documents provide information and prices for the Top Up and Spill Market. This market is for the transfer of electricity into and out of the electricity transmission and/or electricity distribution networks of the South West Interconnected System.

It should be noted that only "Registered Members" of the Top Up and Spill Market are able to use these services.

Overview

The Top Up and Spill (TUAS) market allows members to purchase electricity from Western Power (the "top up" component) when their production is below the level of their customer demand, and to sell spill electricity to Western Power (the "spill" component) when their production exceeds demand.
