How you can stay safe around powerlines this winter

At Western Power, we’re busy maintaining and growing the electricity network for our customers. But winter storms present special challenges, so we’re asking everyone to help.

  • Don't touch damaged or fallen powerlines - they could be 'live'.
  • Use professional tree pruning services to ensure there is at least 2.5 metres between your trees and powerlines.
  • Secure objects, such as sheet metal and outdoor umbrellas, to prevent them from blowing into powerlines.
