Sustainability Assessment Workshops

Western Power and their consultants, SKM have finalised the sustainability assessment of the corridor options for the project. In the sustainability assessment Option 10 (PDF 4mb - Large file), a combination of the pink and gold routes, performed best overall when considering the social, economic, environmental and technical principles. There were 16 options that were assessed as a part of the sustainability assessment.

A sustainability assessment report will be made available on the website in the coming weeks.

During the finalisation of the sustainability assessment scoring, the project team held three scoring verification workshops at:

  • Workshop 1 - Dongara - Social Scoring Verification Workshop, Wednesday 2 May 2007
  • Workshop 2 - Dongara - Environmental Scoring Verification Workshop, Thursday 4 May 2007
  • Workshop 3 - Geraldton - Technical and Economic Scoring Verification Workshops, Friday 5 May 2007

The workshops provided an opportunity to key stakeholders to comment and discuss the scoring of corridor options for the Eneabba to Moonyoonooka 330 kV transmission line corridor selection process sustainability assessment.

A total of 21 participants attended the workshops including government, industry and local landowner representatives. The workshops provided valuable local information for consideration in the sustainability assessment process.
