Community workshops

Western Power and independent consultants Strategen conducted a series of community workshops in Spalding and Northampton in mid-October 2007.

Stakeholder and community members were encouraged to come along to the workshops and provide input into the corridor selection process.

The aims of the workshops were to:         

  • Promote awareness and understanding of the project in the region;
  • Gather important local input and knowledge regarding the constraints regarding the constraints and opportunities associated with the draft corridor options to feed into the corridor refinement process;
  • Allow for attendees to refine the weightings of the project sustainability principles; and
  • Gain an understanding of what is important to the local community.

Western Power and Strategen used the information provided at the workshops to help refine the draft corridor options.
