Current transmission line projects

Belmont Kewdale Welshpool transmission line

As part of our commitment to improve the quality and reliability of power supply within Western Australia, Western Power proposes to construct a new 132,000 volt (132 kV) transmission line in the Welshpool and Kewdale area.

west kalgoorlie to black flag transmission line

A second 132 kV line is being constructed between the West Kalgoorlie substation and the Black flag substation to improve the security and reliability of power supplies in the area.

Boddington Gold Mine expansion project

The Boddington Gold Mine Management Company (BGMMCo) Ltd has applied for access to Western Power's transmission network to receive additional power for the Boddington Gold Mine Expansion Project.

Eneabba and Karara transmission line upgrade

Western Power and Gindalbie Metals Ltd (Gindalbie) are proposing to upgrade the existing transmission line from Eneabba to Koolanooka (via Three Springs), with an extension to Karara.

Kemerton to Binningup transmission line

Western Power is in the process of upgrading the existing Kwinana to South Fremantle 132kV transmission line.

Margaret River to Busselton transmission line

Western Power is about to start a six-month consultation process for a major upgrade of the transmission line between Margaret River and Busselton.

Midland transmission line

Western Power will install a 132,000 volt underground power cable between the Guildford terminal substation in Stirling Crescent, and the Midland Junction zone substation in Lloyd Street.

Milligan Street transmission cable

As part of Western Power's commitment to improving the quality and reliability of power supply to the Perth CBD, Western Power is installing two new 132,000 volt (132 kV) underground cables in Milligan Street.

Muja to Wellstead transmission line

Western Power plans to construct a 300 km 220,000 Volt transmission line between Kojonup and a new magnetite mine at Wellstead, 90 km north east of Albany.

Pinjar to Eneabba transmission line

Western Power has commenced a consultation process before work starts on the rebuilding of the existing transmission line between Pinjar and Eneabba.

Pinjar to Wanneroo transmission line

Rivervale to Cannington transmission line

Western Power is resuming works to upgrade the 132,000 volt (132 kV) transmission line in Lathlain, Carlisle, Welshpool and Queens Park.

South-west 330kV network upgrade

Construction of the new 330 kV transmission line from the south-west will need to connect into the exisiting 330 kV network by 2011.
