Pinjar to Wanneroo transmission line

The project

To meet the growing demand for electricity, and to provide future power supplies for planned development in the City of Wanneroo, Western Power plans to construct a new 132,000 volt (132 kV) transmission line linking the Wanneroo substation to the gas power station at Pinjar.

Perth’s northern suburbs are expanding rapidly and power requirements from residential, commercial and industrial customers have substantially increased.

The new transmission line will help Western Power to offer a quality, reliable power supply to existing and future residents and businesses, and will provide network reinforcement to allow for further development of the Neerabup industrial area.
