Western Power is currently upgrading its existing Darlington zone substation on Victor Road, Darlington.
This project involves the installation of a third transformer and other associated electrical equipment within the existing substation to improve the quality and reliability of power and meet the growing need for power in the Darlington area.
During July 2008 Western Power contractors cleared vegetation at the front and a small area along side of the substation site.
Construction works to upgrade the substation are scheduled to commence in November 2008 in order to be completed by September 2009.
Western Power and its contractors will safely manage any minor disruptions to traffic which may be caused during the construction period.
