Western Power welcomes the feedback received during its six-week public comment period about the Distribution Headworks Scheme, which ended on 12 October 2007.
Western Power, with the Office of Energy and an Industry Working Group, has developed a Distribution Headworks Scheme that will become part of its Capital Contributions Policy.
The Headworks Scheme provides a solution to funding power capacity upgrades to network infrastructure in locations at the edge of the South West Interconnected System. The Scheme will enable stalled expansions to proceed and will enable sustainable development of regional and rural electricity services. It is a fairer and more equitable approach to funding upgrades in regional and rural areas and is reflective of the true costs of network expansion.
