There are two types of disconnection - temporary and for demolition.
Sometimes it is necessary to temporarily disconnect your supply to complete renovations, repair fascias, guttering etc.
If you need a temporary disconnection during working hours, please complete a Network Services form (PDF 117kb).
If you need the property to be disconnected and reconnected outside working hours - for example to save disrupting your business - please complete an Isolation of Western Power Services form (PDF 41kb).
Before arranging a disconnection for demolition, the property owner or tenant (whoever has the electricity account) must contact their electricity retailer to finalise their electricity account.
You can then arrange the disconnection for demolition through the same electricity retailer.
If you are using a demolition company, they will usually organise this for you.
In overhead areas, disconnecting for demolition includes removing the meter and the overhead service cable.
In underground areas (residential) we do not remove the underground cable between the pillar and the building, as this remains the property and responsibility of the owner.
If the metering installation has a Current Transformer (CT), typically large commercial premises, then the property owner will need to obtain a quotation for removal of the CT Meter using the form below:
Some commercial premises, especially in the Perth and Fremantle CBDs are fed via an underground cable directly from the street mains. If you think this may be the case, please ring us 13 10 87 to arrange for the cable to be removed.
