An appliance survey conducted in December 2008 found that one of the main contributors to peak energy demand in Denmark and Walpole is storage hot water systems.
As part of the Green Town Project, Western Power has launched a pilot Fuel Switching initiative, which will provide residents of the Denmark and Walpole areas with a $400 rebate when they switch their electric hot water system to a gas boosted solar hot water system.
