In reporting information on this website, in our annual report and other publications our aim is to provide insight into our broader business performance and aspirations, highlighting Western Power’s commitment to delivering sustainable energy solutions for our customers and the community.
We aim to report on a broad range of business issues complementary to those defined in the Statement of Corporate Intent agreed annually with the Minister for Energy, consistent with Electricity Corporations Act 2005 (WA) and Electricity Industry Act 2004 (WA). The content of our reporting is influenced by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines version 3.0 and the Electricity Utility Sector Supplement.
At this stage we are maturing our sustainability assurance processes with assistance from our internal Risk Assurance and Audit Branch that reports directly to the Board. Formal sustainability assurance has not been sought at this stage, although participation in the Corporate Responsibility Index provides us with external verification of our responses by auditors appointed by the St James Ethics Centre. We do not yet publish our CRI score.
