Feasibility evaluations

Developers, consultants or designers may request information for a preliminary feasibility study of a future subdivision (five lots or more) to assess the project’s viability.

We offer two types of feasibility evaluations, each offering a different level of assessment into your power infrastructure requirements:

  • a feasibility enquiry for those seeking a brief assessment
  • a feasibility study for those requiring a detailed assessment of requirements

Note: Our response will be in regard to the high voltage (HV) distribution capacity to the desired area, but will not cover the internal reticulation requirements of the proposed development. If more information is required, an application for a design information package should be completed.

To obtain information in regard to block loads, including developments of four lots or less, a distribution quotation application should be completed.

Feasibility enquiry

A load flow analysis will not be performed for a feasibility enquiry; however developers will be given:

  • a DFIS map detailing the local HV distribution network
  • feedback on whether reinforcement is required to accommodate the proposed development at the time application – this is based on our planning engineer's knowledge of the capacity and constraints of the relevant HV distribution network

Feasibility study

Developers will be given:

  • a DFIS map detailing the local HV distribution network
  • feedback on what reinforcement is required to accommodate the proposed development at the time application, based on the results from a load flow analysis conducted by our planning engineer
  • estimated costs of the reinforcement works

Feasibility study $755 (inc GST)

Note: Large and/or complex developments may involve extensive studies and additional costs will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Fees will be invoiced after we have sent the requested evaluation.
