Clearances
Once you have met all our conditions on your conditional approval, you need to request official clearance by submitting a clearance request form (PDF 132kb) with all the relevant paperwork. See how to apply below.
Initial requests are free, but if it is refused you will need to pay a resubmission fee. Common reasons for refusals are:
- overhead connections have not been removed
- sub main switchboard (SMSB) has not been installed or we have not been notified
- demolition notice was not received
- service easements not in place on strata plans
- connections for all lots being created have not been paid for in full
- transmission line easement documentation has not been finalised
All conditions are designed to ensure we meet the WA electrical requirements and our own policy and standards for subdivisions/amalgamations. When these requirements are not met, considerable frustration, additional costs, impediments to building and disputes between neighbours can arise.
Completion notices are issued by your electrician for the work completed and this notice number should be submitted as proof that you have complied. The work must be detailed on the notice for it to be accepted. We keep a copy of all notices on file, so if you cannot find your notice number we can assist you.
Demolition licences are issued by your local council and should accompany the clearance request if it has not yet been or was very recently demolished. If not, our records will indicate that the supply and meter at the property are still active.

Complete the request for clearance form (PDF 132kb) and send with all the necessary paperwork (see form for details).
The guidelines page on the request form should be read carefully before submission. Clearance requests are usually processed within seven (7) working days, with priority given to those submitted electronically.
